Application Information |
| Established in 1965, the NAGT/USGS Cooperative Summer Field Training Program is now one of the longest continuing science internship programs in the country. Over 1,500 students have participated in this program from its inception, with many participants proceeding on to distinguished careers with the USGS, with academia, and with industry. |

| Application Procedure |
- To open an applicant file, email your résumé to ccunning@usgs.gov as soon as possible.
- If your permanent address is different from your current address, make sure to include BOTH addresses on your résumé. Specify the date when the current address will no longer be valid.
- You will receive an email confirmation that your résumé was successfully received by USGS.
- Mail a complete application packet ON OR BEFORE JANUARY 28, 2008. (See the Application Checklist to be sure you have included all requested materials.)
- Mailed application packet should contain:
- Cover Letter—The cover letter should include a statement about your professional goals and interests and how this internship might contribute to your career objectives. It may also include pertinent biographical data that does not appear on the résumé.
- Official Transcripts—Please send an official transcript for each college/university you have attended, including courses in progress. Transcripts MUST be included in the mailed application packet and not sent separately by your school.
- Mailed application packet must be POSTMARKED by JANUARY 28, 2008. No late applications will be accepted! You will receive an email confirming that your application packet has been received.
